However, needles should never be used twice, even after being autoclaved. Don’t be afraid to ask the artist about sterilization and to see the equipment being opened. If the tubes, tips and grips are not Tattoo Tubes, or the needle has been used before, there is a risk you could become infected if the person the needle was used on before had a blood born disease such as HIV or hepatitis. The chance of this happening is quite low, but it’s a risk nonetheless.
